The plan was to get out of British Columbia fairly quickly. Our second night was spent east of Kamloops, an uneventful night camping. So much so I don’t even remember where we actually stopped.

The weather has not been the best, we slept through a few fantastic lightning storms with heavy rain, and we drove through an amazing heavy rain yesterday. We stopped in Dryden Ontario and checked into the Quality Inn, no camping this night. Slept in real bed, with a warm shower and bathroom only a couple meters away. TV was here but it did not even get turned on.

This morning, Sean was looking out the window.

Dave: “hows the weather out there?”
Sean: “the usual, dark and dreary.”
Dave: “that’s OK, we will make our own sunshine!”

Even I am not sure what that means, but I going to stay positive, sure would be nice if the weather would see my point of view and at least stop raining for a few days.

Most of the yesterday was dry and the sun decided to poke out a few times. After a nice campfire beside Lake Superior, we retired for the tent and back of the truck to get some sleep at 1am, just as the rain started to fall, it rained for most of the night.. again… this time it was darn cold as well.

Devils Tower: As we got closer to this I started to have a craving for Mashed Potatoes. I also kept expecting to see dead cows in the fields any moment.

This is really an amazing sight to see in Wyoming. Viewing rock about 200 million years old, and the formation…

In celebration of completing this journey, I got a Tattoo. No, it was not entirely about the trip, it has been something on my mind for several years; this just seemed to be the perfect time. The summer of 2008 is going to be a summer I will remember for years!
